"Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:30

Questions Bring Answers

Great philosophers received knowledge using questions as an intellectual tool. Great scientists invented amazing theories and complex equipments using questions that unravelled mysteries. Great movements of liberation were born by repeated acts of convincing people to question. Questions bring answers for everything. Moses' question revealed the mighty name of God. "Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex 3:13-14). God's question brought Solomon wisdom that no human had ever received. "What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!" (1 Kings 3:5-9). Emperor Artaxeres' question to Prophet Nehemiah made him rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Neh 2:1-8). In today's verse the jailor in Philippi's question to Paul and Silas, who were chained and imprisoned, brought salvation, joy and peace to him and his family. Where question ceases answer ceases, too. Let our questions be our concerns and worries but let our answers be our trust in the providence of God. "Leave all your worries with Him because He cares for you" (1 Pet 5:7).

Abba, give me wisdom to search with right questions that I may receive the answers. Let your Spirit enlighten me. Amen!
