Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart. Prov 7:2-3

Words Bring Victory

The entire universe was commanded out into being by the Word that proceeded from the mouth of God. The book of Genesis Ch.1 has recorded the condensed version of the sevenfold commands that brought being to be into being. Forgetfulness and doubt of God's Word led the first family to loose the privileged garden that God himself arranged for them. Pain, hard labor, death, barrenness of the land and curse were the consequences of forgetfulness and doubting God's Word with the seduction of the enemy. Mindful of the situation of human race, God made His prophets to carry His Word time and time again to counsel and to warn that they may live. When the Word was received, healing, providence and victory proceeded, when the Word was denied, defeat and slavery awaited. Unfathomable love of God decided to send His Word incarnated for the salvation of mankind. "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (Jn 1:14) Gospel records how the Word-incarnated used three times the words as swords against the temptation of the enemy in the desert (Lk 4:1-13). Need victory, blessing or healing, Solomon suggests bind the Word on your fingers and on your heart.

Abba, Let your Words be our sword and shelter. Let your Spirit remind us of them always. Amen!
