"Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you." Ex 16:4

Heavenly Cuisine

Popular cuisines, be it Ethiopian, Mexican, French, Japanese and Italian, are supplied provided money is paid. Supermarkets and the corporates manipulate the need for food to their advantage and make millions. Heavenly food, Manna, was provided for free to the Israelites on their exodus into Canaan on one condition: "go out and gather each day's portion on that day" (Ex 16:4). Following this instruction involves great trust in divine promise and providence, "And the ravens brought him [Elijah] bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook" (1 Kings 17:6). Sent away from the house of Abraham, slave girl Hagar and her son were also provided when they looked up and cried. "And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water." (Gen 21:17-19) Even forty days of fasting in the wilderness did not deprive Jesus of his trust in all providing love of Heavenly Father when the enemy tempted, "Order this stone to turn into bread" (Lk 4:3). Doubt not, question not and violate not the condition for receiving free meal from heaven.

Abba, help me believe your unfailing love and providence. Let your Spirit develop this trust in me. Amen.
