And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42:10

Double Blessing

Not loosing faith in times of trials and tribulations should stand out as a hallmark trait of a true believer. Life of Job stands tall as a living example that everyone can follow and imitate. Donkeys stolen, servants killed, sheep struck, shepherds killed, camels taken away and children died were the news reported to shatter the stunning faith of Job (Job 1:13-19). Nothing could defeat the man of faith who still chooses to believe the Giver of everything. "And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD." (Job 1:21) Friends who came to comfort took words to accuse, and wife suggested, "You are still as faithful as ever, aren't you? Why don't you curse God and die?" (Job 2:9) Take not what you hear, look not what you see that tries to rob off the greatest treasure - outstanding faith. Only then can you receive and enjoy the double blessing which is the gift to the special one who will never give up on God. Captivity that chains believer will be broken when the lips are filled with hymns of praise, "About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listeningto them" (Acts 16:25). Accept anything that comes from God and be assured the double blessing.

Abba, help me grow in faith in all circumstances that I may retain the double blessing that your spirit help me praise unceasingly. Amen.
