Let us not give up the habit of meeting together. Heb 10:25

Gathering Together

Individual apartments, private rooms, personal computers, secret passwords and smart phones take individuals from natural communion of families and disillusions into artificial climates of electronic friendship--Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. Human need for fellowship and coexistence in deep, real relationships is also the condition for Christian culture. For prayer and the presence of God, one condition: "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20) For sustenance and survival, another condition: "For just as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body being many are one body, so also is Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12) For strength and multiplication of missions, next condition: "And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved." (Acts 2:46-47) That is why the most important prayer of Jesus goes this way, "so that they will be united just as we are." (John 17:11) David also admires the beauty of brethren coming together and living together. "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1) Let's meet, let's sing, let's dance, let's dine and let's witness Christian communion.

Abba, help us meet together as believers. Let your Spirit bring us together often and often. Amen.
