It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises. Ecc 7:5

Accept Corrections

No one is born perfect, hence, everyone needs corrections. David’s son, the philosopher, recommends that it is wise to receive and accept corrections from the right people. The tendency of human beings is to be associated with people and friends who flatter, that does not develop or mould the best character. Christ himself has given instructions as to how corrections have to be made: “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over” (Mt 18:15). The intention of any correction should develop from the attitude of compassion and empathy that might win the person who is being corrected. Let’s welcome and receive corrections from the wise people who God has kept above us-be it parents, teachers, wise religious leaders and the best friends who only want our best selves to shine.

Abba, give us the humility and wisdom to accept the right corrections. Let your Spirit help us with this. Amen.
