Welcome Holy Spirit
The entire creation of the cosmos began with the hovering of the Holy Spirit, “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light.” (Gen 1:1-3) The very first life of the human being began with the breathing of His Spirit, “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” (Job 33:4) The conception and birth of the Savior in the womb of Mary began with the hovering of the Holy Spirit , “And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you'.” (Lk 1:35) The ministry of Jesus Christ began with the descending of the Holy Spirit, “And while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him.” (Lk 3:21-22) The bold proclamation of Peter and apostles began with the descending of the Holy Spirit, “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:3-4) The life and ministry of every true believer can become successful only by welcoming the Holy Spirit, “Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” (Rom 8:9) Let us welcome the Holy Spirit at the beginning of the new year, and enjoy His constant presence within us.
Abba, thank you for sending Your Spirit to be our helper and advocate. Holy Spirit, we welcome You in our lives, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
