“Sir, if you want to, you can make me clean.” Mt 8:2

Healing Desired

Medical researches and multi-speciality hospitals are growing in great numbers, taking advantage of the situations of the human condition of various sicknesses. A reminder is set before us by the Scripture as how to approach the Ultimate Healer, who declares himself, “for I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Ex 15:26). Knowing that the disobedient and fallen mankind was an easy prey to sickness, Heavenly Father sent His Son who can conquer all the consequences of sin and diseases, even death: “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people” (Mt 9:35). Request for healing was always responded with immediate effect, for He desires healing. “Jesus reached out and touched him. ‘I do want to,’ he answered. ‘Be clean!’ At once the man was healed of his disease” (Mt 8:3). The ministry of healing was shared with His chosen apostles, since He authorised them, “they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” (Mk 16:17-18). Nowhere in the world, we can see the treatment method so strange but effective, “As a result of the apostles' work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter's shadow might fall across some of them as he went by” (Acts 5:15). Let’s desire to be channels of healing that will benefit mankind as today’s need for healing is very high.

Abba, we praise you for your power and desire to heal us. Let your Spirit make us agents of healing, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
