“How can I give you up, Israel? How can I abandon you?” Hos 11:8

Unfailing Love

Situations of pain and misery, loss and depression leave us at times to question and doubt the love of our Creator for us. While the entire creation proceeded out of His mouth, mankind was touched and shaped by His loving hands, “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand” (Jer 18:6). Constant renovation takes place for the betterment of our own selves, may create discomfort and struggle, but it is a means of strengthening our selves, “Yet I was the one who taught Israel to walk. I took my people up in my arms” (Hos 11:3). Prophet Hosea himself reminds us of the unfailing love of God, even while we abandon Him, “I drew them to me with affection and love. I picked them up and held them to my cheek; I bent down to them and fed them” (Hos 11:4). Our lives will be filled with joy and tranquility when we believe, proclaim, and be grateful for the never-failing love of our God, for He desires to bless us every day, “I will answer their prayers and take care of them. Like an evergreen tree I will shelter them; I am the source of all their blessings” (Hos 14:8). Let’s remind each other every day of the unfailing love of God.

Abba, thank you for loving me constantly even though I am unworthy. Let your Spirit remind me of this love and give me hope, in Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.
