“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Ps 32:8

Guiding Eye

Temptation to be on their own was the fall that caused humanity to sin and death. Every day experiences of individual lives verify the fact that human beings have to be dependent on the Creator to be on the right way that would deliver them from being lost or wayward. David, the psalmist, shares his insight to follow the One who directs and watches over, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Ps 32:8).  The Only One who descended from heaven, who fulfilled and set right the path for mankind to reclaim the privileged guidance and grace that were there from the beginning, declares, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (Jn 14:6). While sending His emissaries to proclaim the way to the mankind, He instructed and assured them of the indwelling presence of the Spirit that would guide them and lead them, “do not worry about how to respond or what to say. In that hour you will be given what to say. For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you” (Mt 10:19-20). Let’s humble ourselves to this Guiding Eye that would lead, guide, and protect us everyday and everywhere. Keep reminding oneself and each other of this mystery that would guard us and lead us all the way.

Abba, thank you for sending your son to lead us. Let your Spirit lead us in the way we should walk, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
