Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. Eccles 4:9

Partnership Encouraged

The very life begins with and is nurtured by the company and support of others - spouses, parents, friends and well-wishers. The advantage of having a company is explained by the wise philosopher in his writings, “Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it’s just too bad, because there is no one to help him. If it is cold, two can sleep together and stay warm, but how can you keep warm by yourself. Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break” (Eccles 4:9-12). Christ on His mission expansion sent His emissaries two by two, “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go” (Lk 10:1). The presence of God is affirmed in the fellowship of one-minded believers, “For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them” (Mt 18:20). The assurance of answer to the faith-filled prayers, also, are met by the same condition, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth concerning anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in Heaven” (Mt 18:19). Let’s appreciate and enjoy the company of the people God has placed in our lives.
