To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Mt 25:15

Talents Multiplied

Business investors always expect a great return when they plant their resources on anyone or anything. Every one of us is created with the definite purpose of achieving that which we are gifted with. There is no question about the equality of the dignity, but there would be a question regarding the talents we are invested with, “Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them” (Mt 25:19). Life is an opportunity to recognise and identify the talents that have been uniquely given to us and to get them multiplied. The report we should receive as we complete our mission on earth should be, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” (Mt 25:21). Blaming situations or making excuses are condemned if we bury our talents, hence, let’s be alarmed by the Parable of the Talents, “But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed?’” (Mt 25:26). Wasting the talents that are meant for multiplication would bring us great condemnation, for He said, “And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Mt 25:30). Let’s yearn to get more and more as we invest our talents in a worthy manner, “For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away” (Mt 25:29). Even though Paul was not in the band of the Twelve, still he went far and wide to invest his talent of proclamation, hence, he could declare, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil 4:13). Let’s imitate this undefeatable and matchless enthusiasm and perseverance that can become our own when we desire. Believe that you are created by the One who created the universe that has unimaginable amount of energy, and be filled with surprises until you unfold your destiny.

Abba, thank you for entrusting us with your talents. Let your Spirit help us get them multiplied, in Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.
