The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Ps 118:6

On Our Side

The assurance of victory in the battlefield is not based on our strength or weaknesses, but by He being on our side. The fearful Moses, who did not dare to turn back to Pharaoh’s palace, went courageously when he got confirmed that God was on his side, “And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest” (Ex 33:14). Joshua also won victories after victories and marched ahead, because he heard and believed God was on his side, “And the LORD said to Joshua, ‘Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.’” (Joshua 3:7). Doubt and fear will disappear and melt away as we hold fast to this secret that God is on our side; hence David also assertively declared in his hymn, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Ps 118:6). The privilege we enjoy as children of God is that He is on our side, even if we forget, in life’s difficult moments. Torrents and toss of life will completely be removed from our lives, for we only depend on Him who is always on our side.

Abba, we worship You and adore You for being on our side. Let your Spirit help us believe and declare Your siding with us, in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
