After this, knowing that everything had now been accomplished, and to fulfill the Scripture, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” Jn 19.28

Extend Life

The advancement of culture has led mankind to commercialize and merchandize everything that is kept for essential and free. The One who created everything, when he came on earth and sat by the well, declared, “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life” (Jn 4.14); but became thirsty and gasped for water and fulfilled the prophesies, “After this, knowing that everything had now been accomplished, and to fulfill the Scripture, Jesus said, ‘I am thirsty.’” (Jn 19.28). The thirst of Christ was not only for water but for souls He desired and desires still, and hence eternal. Let’s help the world and the entire mankind by preserving water, the very gift of life, and remain compassionate, at least, by extending  a glass of water: “And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded” (Mt 10:42). Water and life need preservation, and sharing can keep the creation and mankind alive for a long time.

Abba, thank you for keeping the earth alive. Let Your Spirit refreshes us as we drink and remain grateful, in Jesus’ wonderful name, Amen.
