The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will extol Him. Ex 15:2

Comforting Strength

I wonder whether God permits our weaknesses that we may rely on Him, and be strengthened by Him, as we are His beloved and choicest. Hence, let us not give up on Him, who never gives up on us but strengthens us amidst our weaknesses. Moses who underwent trials and troubles, confidently sings, “The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father's God, and I will extol Him” (Ex 15:2). The passage we go through in life, at times seems hard, brings His comforting strength and great understanding that we may need to share with others, as Paul himself boldly declares, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ (2 Corinthians 1:3-5). Let’s never suspect the benevolence that is operating on our behalf day and night, as we are His. And so we announce in faith like David, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Ps 27:1). Believe in Him, hold hands with fellow believers, and march toward victory, as comforting strength follows us.

Abba, thank you for your continuous comforting strength on my behalf. Let your Spirit help us with fortitude, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
