Peace was the necessity of mankind, as sin alienated and separated human beings from the Creator. The only thing humanity cannot achieve for themselves was, making up for the gap that remained between them and God; hence He sent His Son amongst men as His Representative, who proclaimed, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Mt 5:9). The price His Son paid for the true reconciliation between God and men was His own life, yet He completed the mission, and gently greeted peace, “It was the first day of the week, and that very evening, while the disciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them. ‘Peace be with you!’ He said to them” (Jn 20:19). Being witnesses and beneficiaries of this greatest gift of peace, Apostle James recommends us to be agents of peace in all works of life, “But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere” (James 3:17). As believers, let’s take the first step to make peace and be reconciled. 

Abba, thank you for making peace with mankind by sending Your Son. Let’s enjoy Your Son’s desired peace along with Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Most Peaceful Name, Amen.
