“Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive?” Lk 24:5

The Resurrection Moment

Nowhere in the world you see an army guarding a tomb for fear, in case he raises up, but God sent His angel to open the gate, and welcomed Him to the victorious life. Those who believed in Him and His Words, also forgot, and hence needed a reminder by the angels, “Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said to them, ‘Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive? He is not here; he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was in Galilee.’” (Lk 24:5-6). The faith and spread of Christianity have their basis on the true assertion and completion of Christ’s  Words, regarding His own life, “From that time on Jesus began to say plainly to his disciples, ‘I must go to Jerusalem and suffer much from the elders, the chief priests, and the teachers of the Law. I will be put to death, but three days later I will be raised to life.’” (Mt 16:21). As Paul writes in his epistle, even the Roman Empire could not deny the fact of the resurrection of Christ, for the witnesses were many, “that he was buried and that he was raised to life three days later, as written in the Scriptures; that he appeared to Peter and then to all twelve apostles. Then he appeared to more than five hundred of his followers at once, most of whom are still alive, although some have died” (1 Cor 15:4-6). Let’s proclaim to the world, of the Son of God who came, saved, and got resurrected, and lives for ever.

Abba, thank You for giving us the hope of resurrection, by Your Son’s. Let Your Spirit help us believe and proclaim this faith, in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
