When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Mt 9:36

Moving with Compassion

The sacred heart of Jesus moves with compassion when He sees people in need; “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Mt 9:36). The unending love of Christ proceeds and extends, as He sees the people who are in need; “When He stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick” (Mt 14:14). Only He has the heart full of compassion, that moves towards those in need, for He claimed that He is the Good Shepherd, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (Jn 10:11). Let’s approach Him for mercy and healing, for only He can give them to us.

Abba, thank You for being mindful of all our needs. Let Your Spirit bring us close to you, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
