“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” Mt 18:19

Agreement in Prayer

One of the conditions for the availability of the presence of God, is that we need to be in communion at least with one more person, be it a friend, a family member, or a fellow believer: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Mt 18.20). The answer for an assured prayer, is explained by Jesus in these words, “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Mt 18:19). The greatest anointing, people can ever imagine, came on earth on the day of Pentecost, when the above mentioned conditions were generously met: “When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:1-2). Let’s learn from this reflection, the mystery of being united with other persons, and enjoy the blessings that come by agreement in prayer.

Abba, thank You for teaching us to pray, that we may remain blessed. Let Your Spirit support us to be single minded in faith and prayer, in Jesus’ Most Glorious Name, Amen.
