The Fool Says, There Is No God. Ps 14:1

Level of Intelligence

It has become a modern stupidity to be proud of the lack of understanding and comprehending the Supreme Being, who created and sustains the entire universe. The world normally looks down on people, who cannot comprehend abstract sciences and the formulas of physics, mathematics, and software solutions. But David emphatically categorizes people who cannot understand the reality and existence of God as fools, even if they might claim among themselves to be academic intellectuals: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good” (Ps 14:1). The Supreme Creator loves to reveal Himself to His creatures and make them wise, which they cannot realize; that pathetic is their level of intelligence, even though they may call themselves scholars: “The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God” (Ps 14:2). The wisest man ever lived on earth, Solomon, shares the secret for understanding anything and everything by giving due reverence to the Creator, and extending the fear that is His due: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Prov 9:10). Let’s learn to be wise in the eyes of the One, who alone can dispense wisdom and understanding, according to our necessities.

Appa, thank You for providing us with intelligence to fear You, and submit to Your Will. Let Your Spirit constantly fill our minds with wisdom and understanding, in Jesus’ Most Mighty Name, Amen.
