Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy. Ps 98:8

Invitation to Jubilation

Singing aloud with gratitude and joy is one form of prayer, that honors God, hence David invites people of all nations to join his choir, “O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy” (Ps 47:1). Being enthralled with great jubilation, the psalmist extends his invitation to the nature, for his heart is so full of joy, that needed great company, “Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy” (Ps 98:8). Limitless shouts of joy should be exhibited towards God, for the marvels He has done in our lives, and the mercy we enjoy day by day, as an example that is set before us by the prophet, “Shout for joy, O heavens, for the LORD has done it! Shout joyfully, you lower parts of the earth; Break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains, O forest, and every tree in it; For the LORD has redeemed Jacob And in Israel He shows forth His glory” (Is 44:23). Let our lives be filled with worship and singing, for these make our lives more beautiful and radiant, for He will give heed to our praises, and bless us.

Abba, thank You for helping us to rise above our daily anxieties and worries, and to praise You for the mercy we enjoy unceasingly. Let Your Spirit cheer us up to sing, along with the nature, and enjoy their graceful company, in Jesus’ Most Beautiful Name, Amen.
