Millions of technological inventions in the field of agriculture, and growing number of fashion and design, have not succeeded in satisfying the need of mankind. The deprived mentality of the few, who are never satisfied even after hoarding, affects the others and keeps them being bothered always and dissatisfied, making them forget the basics that’s been provided by God: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (Mt 6:25). The ones who got the privilege of ruling over the creations of the earth and have lowered their level of dignity, learn from the creatures, the superiority of their very selves: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Mt 6:26). Trusting in His genuine concern and providence can alleviate the fear and anxiety that deprive us of happiness and health, as Christ challenges, “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Mt 6:27). May we keep our focus on His love, and let our minds be permeated with His unfailing care. 

Abba, thank You for creating us superior to the creatures of the earth. Let Your Spirit help us believe and appreciate and remain contented to enjoy long and happy years, in Jesus’ Most Merciful Name, Amen.
