Brothers, pray for us. 1 Thes 5:25

Everyone Needs Support

Even the greatest missionary, Paul, was pleading with his fellow believers to support him with prayers; then we should realize that we cannot manage our lives on our own, hence, should request mutual prayer support: “Brothers, pray for us” (1 Thes 5:25). Paul had firm faith in the power of prayer, that alone could strengthen him to spread the gospels; that is why he wrote to Christians in Thessalonica to keep prayer as a priority in ministry support: “Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you” (2 Thes 3:1). For anything to be achieved, we need sufficient amount of prayer to be extended to God, even if it is for the proclamation of His own Son’s mystery of salvation: “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains” (Col 4:3). Let our lives be filled with prayer for one another, that would encourage, heal, and liberate those in need.

Abba, thank You for accepting our prayers that we extend for ourselves and others. Let Your Spirit fill us with the desire for  the spirit of prayer. In Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
