So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” 2 Kings 4:2

Great Miracles Need Great Faith

It takes faith, even great faith, to enjoy and benefit great miracles. The woman who came to Prophet Elisha and reported of her extreme poor condition -“Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” (2 Kings 4:2) - had the privilege of enjoying the great miracle, while borrowing many empty vessels and pouring into them all, got enough olive oil to pay her debt and to live on the rest. The Canaanite woman who persistently pleaded for her daughter’s relief, also got a word of applaud for her faith and the healing needed, when she expressed her faith: “Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith: be it to you even as you will. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour” (Mt 15:28). Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue, requested Jesus’ healing touch for his daughter - “and begged Him earnestly, saying, 'My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live'” (Mk 5:23) - got his daughter back to life, even when the news from his house took away his hope. Let’s earnestly pray for the gift of faith, that would release great miracles on our behalf, by the Almighty God.

Abba, thank You for Your gift of faith, that You have kept within us for our own advantage. Let Your Spirit keep kindling the flames of it unceasingly, in Jesus’ Most Glorious Name, Amen.
