Bless Yahweh, my soul, never forget all his acts of kindness. Ps 103:2

Remember His Kindness

The battles of life is harder for the one who struggles to meet them by his own effort alone, forgetting to receive the support of the Lord. Hence, David offers a solution that would enhance our faith to endure any challenges of life: by recalling His favor on our side in the past; “Bless Yahweh, my soul, never forget all his acts of kindness” (Ps 103:2). Only the person who remembers God’s activity in his life, and declares it, can claim more victories in the ongoing life, just like David: “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine” (1 Sam 17:37). Even while the army was terrified, David, the young shepherd, hurried to meet the Philistine, for he kept his mind focused on the Lord, who is always on his side: “So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David” (1 Sam 17:48-50). Let’s turn our focus away from the difficulties in front of us, and keep our mind focused on the benefits that we have enjoyed for a successful life.

Abba, thank You for educating us on the formula of success. Let Your Spirit keep alive all the memories of Your kindness, in Jesus’ Mightiest Name, Amen.
