Nevertheless, hold fast to what you have until I come. Rev 2:25

Steadfastness Is Rewarded

It is easy to accept the Gospel with the initial enthusiasm, but the challenge that is set before us is to endure by holding fast in times of trial. That is why Apostle James writes to encourage the believers, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him” (Jam 1:12). John, who was taken up to Heaven, heard the message from the Son of God to the angel of the church in Thyatira, regarding the reward for being steadfast in faith: “To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations” (Rev 2:26). And hence, the command is for everyone who desires the gift from God, to persevere in faith: “Nevertheless, hold fast to what you have until I come” (Rev 2:25). May we pray that God may shower His grace upon us, that we withstand every trial and gain the crown of life.

Abba, thank You for instructing us to remain steadfast in faith. Let Your Spirit constantly encourage us to hold fast to the treasure of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
