Abraham named that place “The Lord Provides.” And even today people say, “On the Lord's mountain he provides.” Gen 22:14

Our God Provides

The reason behind the unbelievable blessings that Abraham received can be traced back to only one thing—his unshakable faith in the God who provides. That is why he could reply to his innocent child’s question regarding the lamb to be sacrificed—“God himself will provide one.” (Gen 22:8)—and receive as he believed, and named the place after his faith: “Abraham named that place ‘The Lord Provides.’ And even today people say, ‘On the Lord’s mountain he provides.’” (Gen 22:14). David too had his share of struggles in life, yet he could sing because he trusted in His providence: “How wonderful are the good things you keep for those who honor you. Everyone knows how good you are, how securely you protect those who trust you” (Ps 31:19). May we be encouraged by Prophet Isaiah and praise God who is our true provider: “No one has ever seen or heard of a God like you, who does such deeds for those who put their hope in him” (Is 64:4).

Abba, thank You for being our Provider in all times of need. Let Your Spirit help us pray and approach Your Providential Love, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
