God purposely chose what the world considers nonsense in order to shame the wise. 1 Cor 1:27

Chosen By Him

Big corporates and the best of institutions of the world conduct interviews to scan and select the highly talented for their benefit, whereas the choice of God stuns and astonishes us, for they are the ones neglected and disregarded by the world, as Paul underlines: “God purposely chose what the world considers nonsense in order to shame the wise, and he chose what the world considers weak in order to shame the powerful” (1 Cor 1:27). Jesus also chose the very ordinary as His teammates, when He began His mission on earth and praised God for the little ones: “At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.’” (Mt 11:25). And the privilege  of the selected is the faith they have received, that may not make money in this world, yet leads them to His Kingdom, as James wrote: “Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?” (Jam 2:5). May we pray that we be included in to His company, even if the world disregards.

Abba, thank You for choosing the lowly, for they have no one other than You. Let Your Spirit strengthen them with faith in Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
