As for God, his way is perfect. The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. Ps 18:30

The Perfect Way

The person who knows God should also have a firm faith that He has a way and only that is the perfect way, as David, the shepherd declares: “As for God, his way is perfect. The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him” (Ps 18:30). The people who only walk by sight and not by faith are easily deceived by the enemy, who entices them into the broader and the easier way, that will end up in his captivity of destruction. Hence, Jesus warned: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many” (Mt 7:13). The people of Israel were able to enjoy the promised land, only because they treaded upon His perfect way: “When the king of Egypt let the people go, God did not take them by the road that goes up the coast to Philistia, although it was the shortest way. God thought, ‘I do not want the people to change their minds and return to Egypt when they see that they are going to have to fight.’ Instead, he led them in a roundabout way through the desert toward the Red Sea. The Israelites were armed for battle” (Ex 13:17-18). May we humble ourselves to be led by God to His own way, for that is the perfect way.

Abba, thank You for leading us into the perfect way. Let Your Spirit keep us holding fast to Your Hands as we walk along the way of life. In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
