I look to the mountains; where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Ps 121:1-2

Extend Your Vision

Even though the Creator set before the eyes of mankind the entire creation and gave the authority over that, the woman got seduced by the beauty of the forbidden tree and ended up eating it’s fruit, sharing it with her partner. The entry of the evil’s dominion began from there; hence we need to be very careful about what we look up to for pleasure and safety. David, who also had a share of fallenness when he looked up to worldly things, instructs us to extend our gaze upon the One who alone can provide life, protection and all blessings: “I look to the mountains; where will my help come from? My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Ps 121:1-2). When we humble ourselves before Him and look up to Him, He will look down from heaven and release the promised blessings in our favor: “The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow” (Dt 28 :12).

Abba, thank You for forgiving us of our failures of looking elsewhere for happiness and protection. Let Your Spirit set our eyes upon You, that we may enjoy unlimited supply of life in abundance, in Jesus’ Most Blessed Name, Amen.
