Jesus stood up and commanded the wind, “Be quiet!” and he said to the waves, “Be still!” The wind died down, and there was a great calm. Mk 4:39

Author of Peace

Everyone takes his own course of life and encounters strong winds and waves that threaten and terrify him. The inability to calm them down keeps him troubled and depressed, devoid of the peace of mind. When a similar situation occurred in reality, the disciples cried out to Jesus and asked for help, and He immediately sent out a word that calmed the external turbulence of the weather and the internal turmoil of the hearts of the disciples: “Jesus stood up and commanded the wind, ‘Be quiet!’ and he said to the waves, ‘Be still!’ The wind died down, and there was a great calm” (Mk 4:39). May we follow the good example of the disciples in approaching Jesus, the Author of Peace, to bring peace and tranquility in situations of our lives.

Abba, thank You for sending Your Son to restore ultimate peace. Let Your Spirit help us enjoy the gift of peace, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
