Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. Prov 27:2

The Right Appreciation

As we are all designed by God to complete a unique and particular assignment on earth, we are gifted with different kinds of gifts and talents. It takes time even for us to understand and recognize our own God-given gifts; thus it might take a long while for the world around us to notice and appreciate them. And that is why the Philosopher warns us not to be in a hurry to receive applaud from others by boasting about our self-glory and lead a miserable life: “Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips” (Prov 27:2). As God’s children we need to have approval and confirmation only from God, and not from anyone and everyone living around us. Let’s be generous and kind to appreciate the best in others; then a day might come when the good deeds we have sown give us fruits and produce.

Abba, thank You for creating us in a perfect way according to Your Perfect Plan. Let Your Spirit give us the spirit of contentment and keep us joyful always, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
