And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. Lk 19:3

Shift Your Position

Knowing our strengths and weaknesses, and assessing the situation we are in, are very important to achieve any success in life. Zacchaeus had only one goal in mind: to see Jesus with his own eyes. Out of enthusiasm he stood along with the crowd, but soon realized that his height did not allow him to view Jesus passing. So he immediately shifted to another position, disregarding other people’s opinions, by using his skill of climbing up a tree. Then, he got an advantage of not only seeing Jesus but also being invited by Jesus personally: “And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, 'Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.'” (Lk 19:3-5) May we move away from the crowd that hinders our goal, and be determinate to standout alone even in a strange position, so that God may consider our passion and grant us a blessing.

Abba, thank You for inspiring us to shift our position to have a better view and gain success. Let Your Spirit give us courage to shift our position, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
