If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved. Rom 10:9

Faith Needs Confession

Human beings have the rarest capacity that no other creatures have: the capacity to speak, declare, and confess. Most often this special gift of speaking is not properly utilized for the wellbeing of the individual or that of the community. Greatest things can be achieved when we know how to take full advantage of the right use of confession. Paul reveals the easiest way to achieve salvation, that is: “If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved.  For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved” (Rom 10:9-10). No activity or effort is demanded on the part of the believer except for the confession of faith. Yes, the only requirement, thus, is faith and the confession of it. This mystery needs surrender, understanding, and practice to attain the salvation we desire.

Abba, thank You so much for keeping the confession of faith as a means for salvation. Let Your Spirit convince us of the mystery and help us to yield to it, in Jesus’ Mightiest Name, Amen.
