“Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you.” Mt 7:1

Develop Right Attitude

One of the mistakes that we commit often and do habitually is judging and condemning ourselves and others. A sincere look at our own selves will reveal that we do have a number of things that can be condemned, but are overlooked by others. Therefore we need to be generous and charitable in accepting others with their limitedness. God alone can be perfect, and that perfection can never be expected or demanded from any human being. Hence, Jesus clearly instructed, “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you, for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others” (Mt 7:1-2). May we cultivate the right attitude of seeing the multitude of goodness in others, and neglect the things that bother us, so that we will not be feeling ashamed for being condemned.

Abba, thank You so much for inspiring us to be generous toward others. Let Your Spirit inscribe in us the positive attitude so that we may appreciate the goodness in others, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
