“Maybe the LORD will act on our behalf. The LORD can win a victory with a few men as well as with many.” 1 Sam 14:6

Count on Him

It is natural for men to depend upon the skills they have, or the resources at their disposal, when they face a challenging situation. But God’s people should neglect their strength or weakness, and look for a divine assistance that can bring a great success. This attitude is highlighted in the life of Jonathan in his encounter with his enemies. “Jonathan said to his armorbearer, ‘Let’s go to the military post of these uncircumcised people. Maybe the LORD will act on our behalf. The LORD can win a victory with a few men as well as with many.’” (1 Sam 14:6). May we ask God to grant us this faith to count on Him, so that we may give all glory and honor to Him in all our achievements and successes.

Abba, thank You so much for enabling us to count on You. Let Your Spirit strengthen us in times of need, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
