“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mt 20:28

The Costliest Price

Many a time we do not regard our lives as important and valuable. The thing that we need to realize and cherish is that we are highly invaluable in the sight of God, our Creator. That is why He was willing to pay the costliest price for the ransom of our souls. Jesus, too, values us precious to the extent that He was willing to sacrifice His very life: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mt 20:28). The time of Christmas, amidst joy and jubilation, should immediately turn our attention to Calvary, where He completed the purchase of our valuable souls for eternity. May we be grateful to Him by adoring Him and live in obedience to His commandment of love, for now we belong to Him.

Abba, thank You for creating us invaluable, and purchasing us by Your Son’s life as  a ransom. Let Your Spirit make us realize and appreciate the gift of life, in Jesus’ Most Precious Name, Amen.
