I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation. Is 61:10

Garment of Salvation

As a dear father, who prepares or purchases best garments for his beloved children, God clothed Adam and Eve, when they felt ashamed and guilty after having disobeyed His command regarding the forbidden fruit. After the fall of mankind, it has become the nature of human beings to fall into sins habitually; hence they are in need of cleansing and clothing to come before the presence of the Lord. The banquet that God has arranged needs His children to come with the garment of salvation, which He has prepared and given freely by the sacrifice of His Son on Calvary, as prophesied by Isaiah: “I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation” (Is 61:10). May we have the humility to accept our sinfulness and ask for pardon, and receive from His mercy the garment of salvation from His hands and dine with Him as His dearest children.

Abba, thank You so much for inviting us to the banquet, and providing us with the garment of salvation. Let Your Spirit remind us to receive the garment of salvation before we enter into the greatest banquet, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
