he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed. 2 Pet 3:9

Love is Patient

Only a deep reflection on the love of God can make us understand His patience with the mankind. God understands that we are still human, but with the support of His grace we can achieve what He desires of us. Since His intention is not to punish or destroy the sinners, He is offering us time for healing and getting away from the sickness of sinfulness. As individuals we are getting more time for our conversion, as He is giving time to others as well, and that becomes an additional advantage for us. Peter invites us to appreciate the love that is exhibited in the patience of God towards each and every one of us: “The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins” (2 Pet 3:9). May we sincerely take steps to come back to the Loving Father and remain as His dear children.

Abba, thank You for being exceedingly kind and patient towards us. Let Your Spirit enable us to realize the awaiting Love of God, in Jesus’ Most Forgiving Name, Amen.
