“I won't, unless you bless me,” Jacob answered. Gen 32:26

Wrestle for Blessing

There are things that we are desperately in need of, and to receive them from the hands of God we need to have the persevering attitude of Jacob. “When the man saw that he was not winning the struggle, he hit Jacob on the hip, and it was thrown out of joint. The man said, ‘Let me go; daylight is coming.’ ‘I won't, unless you bless me,’ Jacob answered” (Gen 32:25-26). Only a fervent prayer would bring the most important blessings we expect from God. Many times we give up after making a couple of attempts of prayer, but we need to persist, since the need for blessing is the basic necessity for our survival. May we sincerely believe that our God would definitely bless us when we wrestle with Him for the necessary healing and liberation.

Abba, thank You for motivating us to be fervent in our prayers. Let Your Spirit pray along with us so that we may win the blessing we need the most, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
