“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" Jn 1:29

Lamb of God

To enjoy pardon and peace and to receive forgiveness and healing, there was a necessity of shedding the precious blood of the Lamb without blemish. Since the mankind could not fulfil this need by themselves, God made a holy arrangement of sending His Son to offer His life at the holy altar as a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the entire mankind. John the Baptist rightly understood and proclaimed the arrival of the Messiah: “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’” (Jn 1:29). May we gladly accept the divine arrangement of the holy sacrifice made by Jesus, the Lamb of God, to receive salvation and peace.

Abba, thank You for sending Your Son as the Lamb to take away the sins of the mankind. Let Your Spirit make us proclaim and praise the victory we received through the Lamb of God, in Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
