Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Ps 51:7

Essential Regular Cleansing

Just as our bodies need regular shower to maintain health and cleanliness, our lives also need constant cleansing. No matter how hard we try, we fail and fall into sin, as it is our nature to slip into sinful thoughts, words and actions. We need to make it a habit to go before the presence of God and ask Him to cleanse us of our sins, by repenting and confessing all our failures and weaknesses. David’s prayer seems a perfect model to ask our Good Lord to make us pure: “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow” (Ps 51:7). May we humble ourselves before God, and ask for His mercy that cleanses us of all our sins by His Son’s precious blood.

Abba, thank You for forgiving us and cleansing us again and again. Let Your Spirit remind us to receive the regular, essential cleansing to keep our spiritual life pure and safe, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
