Every time we commit a sin against God or others, we feel guilty and sinful. We do not have to remain in this state of condemnation when we know what we should do next. The only requirement suggested by the apostle is confessing our sins to God, that would release us and restore us to the purified state: “But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing” (1 Jn 1:9). May we never doubt the loving mercy of God, that sets us free from all our sins every time we approach Him.

Abba, thank You for forgiving us of our wrongdoings all the time. Let Your Spirit make us confess to receive the purification, in Jesus’ Most Forgiving Name, Amen.
