When the apostles saw and found the effects of prayer in Jesus’ life, they requested Him, that they be taught to pray. If we examine the content of the Lord’s prayer, we understand the importance of asking for God’s help, in keeping us away from falling into temptations that steal away peace and prosperity we enjoy. Hence, we need to look up to heaven and pray as our Master and Savior did: “Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One” (Mt 6:13). May we plead with our loving Heavenly Father to deliver us from the evil one all the days of our lives.

Abba, thank You so much for protecting us from the evil one. Let Your Spirit encourage us to pray always and everywhere, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
