If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. Jam 4:17

Do the Good

There are two types of sin that we commit generally: the sin of commission and the sin of omission. Here, James talks about the second type; forgetting or refusing to do the good that we know, which is also a definite sin that has to be avoided: “If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them” (Jam 4:17). May God grant us the strength and desire to do the good that we know and that we can, so that we may please the Lord and receive His blessings.

Abba, thank You for inviting us to do the good that we have to do. Let Your Spirit encourage us to fill our lives with enough good, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
