Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 1 Timothy 2:8

Prayer Posture Recommended

There are various ways one can reach out to God in prayer- standing, sitting, kneeling, walking and so on. Paul out of his personal experience and conviction urges men to lift the hands when one prays: "Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing" (1 Timothy 2:8). Lifting of the hands implies surrender, emptiness, utter dependence and waiting to receive. May God look at our desperate need for help and support, so that we may receive His filling of the Holy Spirit that would lead us to all blessing.

Abba, thank You for encouraging us to pray. Let Your Spirit make us lift our hands to depend on and receive from you, in Jesus’ Most Blessed Name, Amen.
