The King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Mt 25:34

Our Actions Determine

Heaven is the place where God resides, and also is the place that He desires His beloved ones should inherit. But the entry into heaven and the inheritance of His kingdom are primarily determined by our attitudes, actions and life here on earth. A simple reading of the saying of Jesus clearly indicates that the response we have towards the hungry, the thirsty, the homeless, the naked, the sick and the imprisoned determines whether we have the right to enter heaven. God wants the citizens of heaven to have the heavenly attitude to the needy and the deprived while they live on earth. Hence He welcomes only those who performed the heavenly virtues and lived as the extension of God Himself, as Jesus declares: "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;  I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me." (Mt 25:35-36). May we be very careful in realizing our citizenship of heaven and behave accordingly so that we may be welcomed for our best performance here on earth.

Abba, thank You for reminding us of our citizenship and duty on earth. Let Your Spirit motivate us always to live in accordance to our heavenly status, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
