He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray. Prov 10:17

Love Being Instructed

Whatever we have learned we have gained through someone’s instruction. Be it a language, skill, or manner, everything we acquire through a proper instruction. There comes a time in life when we feel frustrated of being instructed, for we think that we know everything and we can handle on our own. But the truth is that we need constant instructions for the benefit of ourselves and the well-being of others. They are like signs that are kept on the road we drive for the safety and advantage of everyone of us and without these the journey would be harder and difficult. The wiseman, Solomon underlines the importance of keeping the instructions that set us on the right path of life: “He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray” (Prov 10:17). It needs humility and wisdom to understand the importance and necessity of instructions. May God grant us the maturity to know that we need instructions, and may we enjoy receiving the right instructions from the right instructors.

Abba, thank You for giving us instructions to keep us on the right path of life. Let Your Spirit make us desire and follow the right instructions, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
