And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? Lk 18:7

Persevere in Prayer

Attendance to worship services is getting low and personal praying habits are becoming weaker these days. This is because for some people prayer is like doing grocery shopping: they go to the market only when the need arises. But for God, prayer is the time of communion and fellowship with the believer, through which he or she is refreshed, nourished, and strengthened to endure the battles that are set before them everyday. That’s why Jesus tells the disciples about the importance of constant prayer and developing a habit of active prayer life, and assures the response from the loving God to His chosen ones: "And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Lk 18:7-8). May we never grow tired of praying or suspect the love that God has for us because we are truly His chosen ones who will receive the desired blessings at His time.

Abba, Thank You for inviting us to persevere in prayer. Let Your Spirit strengthen our will to pray day and night, In Jesus’ Most loving Name, Amen.
