Nobody can understand how and why God chooses people for the mission He has in mind. Not even Jesse, the father of David or his seven brothers thought David would be chosen. That’s why they left him to tend to the sheep just by himself. But God needed that one, whom the entire family neglected, and asked the prophet to anoint him: "And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he." (1 Sam 16:12). May we praise God for considering the least, and choosing them for His desired mission to guide and lead His chosen flock.

Abba, Thank You for choosing people from among us for Your mission. Let Your Spirit give us humility to accept Your choice, In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
